Equestrianism is a technical sport, which involves an animal gifted with a great sensitivity that is not always easy to understand. As both passionate engineers and riders themselves, Benoit, Camille and Idriss were convinced that technology is an ally that must be implemented in the horse-rider relationship, as proven through their experience in event riding, dressage and jumping respectively.

The adventure began in 2014 at the Innovation Center at the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC) and now continues at Eurotechnologies in Lille where the team is quickly growing. The success of the first Kickstarter campaign enables Equisense to transform the prototype into a product. The first thousand customers who supported the project will be the first to receive the product starting this summer. This passionate community will work hand in hand with Equisense to make this dream a reality.

Our mission

All riders who are responsible for their horse must look after his well-being both while at work and at rest...

All riders who are responsible for their horse must look after his well-being both while at work and at rest. In order to help you better understand your horse, we provide a technological solution that enables you to take action early and in the best way possible. Equestrian sports are technical based mainly on feeling. A rider never stops learning. We help you to improve thanks to the power of objective data. See, feel, measure, analyze, and share: your riding experience has never been so complete.

Equestrianism is above all else a sport, a hobby, and most importantly, a passion. For the horse, as well as the rider to be happy, pleasure must remain at the heart of the experience. We offer tools keeping with this aim. Thus, your progress in the saddle, your horse’s welfare as well as the pleasure you experience while taking care of him is our “raison d’être”.

Our team

Scientific Approach

Our patented technologies are developed by our scientific team in partnership with the best veterinarians, riders, and research centers.

Camille

Camille Saute

Scientific Director & Cofounder

Graduate of the UTC, Camille worked at the IFCE (The French Horse and Riding Institute) in Saumur on the scientific objectification of French riding traditions. She develops the technological core of locomotion analysis.

Marine

Marine Slove

Product Director & Veterinarian

Graduate of the Alfort Veterinary School, Marine studied the locomotive pathologies of horses at the Cirale (The Center for Imaging and Research in Equine Locomotor Disorders). She provides her expertise on locomotion and horse physiology.

Mathlab

Our scientific approach

From the accelerometer data obtained while riding, we are developing algorithms to reconstruct the horse’s locomotion and analyze it. The different accelerations and rotations of the sensor enable us to know at any given moment which leg or biped touched down. We can then view all the presented information in the application. For example, lameness is detected when the acceleration is significantly different from one diagonal to the other.

  • 3-axis magnetometer

GPS

The different sensor accelerations and rotations allows us to decompose accurately the gait. From that data, we can compute all the indicators provided in the app. For example, if the propulsion is significatively higher from a diagonal biped to another, we can conclude to a lameness.
